Japan’s meteorological authorities warn of high waves as well as risks of landslides and flooding. Some reports also note evacuation advisories issued to large numbers of residents across multiple prefectures in southwestern, central and eastern Japan, indicating broad preparedness measures as the storm continues its path north.
