According to the board, it processes thousands of student submissions submitted for verification and re-evaluation of scanned answer sheets. CBSE reports that a denial-of-service (DDoS) attack generated unusually high traffic, with figures cited across outlets showing around 1.5 million hits within about two minutes, along with large numbers of unauthorized access attempts. One report also describes a very high volume of requests within a short time window, while another states that security measures such as a web application firewall (WAF) and DDoS mitigation helped keep the portal operating despite the attacks.
Separate updates on student traffic indicate strong application volume immediately after the portal’s launch, including counts for verification and re-evaluation requests, and additional reporting of how many students applied within days or by a specific deadline. The board also says the portal has extended operating time to June 6, with longer session limits and stability improvements to support applicants. The portal remains functional despite the cyber incidents.
