The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested four promoters of Earth Infrastructures Ltd. in connection with an alleged homebuyer fraud and a related money laundering probe. According to the ED, the real estate group collected about ₹2,004 crore from more than 19,000 home buyers and investors by promising timely delivery of residential and commercial units and assuring returns. The ED alleges that around ₹467 crore was diverted or siphoned off through various group entities and related individuals, while projects were left incomplete or possession of units was not handed over, causing losses to buyers and investors.

The ED says it initiated the money laundering investigation based on five FIRs registered by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police against the company, its directors and related entities. The four arrested are identified as Avdhesh Kumar Goel, Rajnish Mittal, Atul Gupta and Vikas Gupta. The ED produced them before a special PMLA court in Delhi, which granted five days of custody for interrogation. It also states that part of the alleged proceeds of crime was used to acquire movable and immovable assets in the names of entities and individuals linked to the promoters. The Economic Times also reports earlier ED searches in April, including seizures of cash, jewellery and property documents.
