Meta says it is rolling out expanded content controls for teens across more countries and is also testing a new Instagram tool aimed at diversifying feeds. The company is introducing broader access to settings designed to limit what teens can see on Instagram, and it plans to apply the changes beyond its initial rollout, making them available globally. Meta also says it will offer an additional, more restrictive option. Alongside the standard teen protections, a “Limited Content” setting will be made available to teens, providing a tighter experience. Meta adds that this “Limited Content” option will later this year be extended beyond Instagram to Facebook and Messenger as well. In parallel, Meta is testing a separate Instagram feature intended to diversify what users are shown, including content that may differ from what they typically encounter. Meta frames the updates as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen teen safety controls and improve content discovery for younger users. The company does not indicate a timeline for when the Instagram feed tool test will become a permanent feature.
