The US Treasury issues new sanctions tied to Iran, targeting four Iran-based digital asset exchanges and associated individuals, according to a notice posted on the Treasury Department website. The Treasury sanctions four Iranian nationals and four companies operating from Iran: Nobitex, Bitpin, Ramzinex and Wallex. The measure also warns that foreign financial institutions and individuals may face additional sanctions if they engage in certain transactions with the listed exchanges, as specified by the Treasury.

The US action follows recent statements by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who said the United States has seized nearly $1 billion in cryptocurrency from Iranian crypto exchanges and wallets since late February. Taken together, the reports describe a continued US effort to disrupt Iran-related financial and crypto activity through both enforcement actions and newly designated sanctions entities.
