Iowa’s 1st Congressional District will hold another House election matchup between Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Democrat Christina Bohannan, with the race projected to occur in November. Both candidates advance from their respective primaries after defeating challengers: Miller-Meeks defeats David Pautsch, while Bohannan, a former member of the Iowa House, defeats Travis Terrell, according to Decision Desk HQ.
The general election will be their third consecutive contest for the seat. Bohannan lost to Miller-Meeks in two prior elections, but her performance improves in the most recent matchup. In the 2024 election, she narrows the margin of defeat to 799 votes, down from earlier results.
