Three Myanmar migrant workers are killed and two others are injured after an explosive drone used in Myanmar’s civil conflict detonates in neighboring Thailand, Thai police say. The incident is reported in Tak province, on the border opposite Myanmar’s Karen state. Thai authorities receive reports of the blast on Tuesday afternoon and send officers to the scene. Police say the apparent attack drone hits a tree on the Thai side of the border before exploding. The blast kills the three migrants, who are working on a nearby chilli farm, and injures two additional labourers. Local police chief Anusorn Dungkong tells AFP that the victims are Myanmar migrant workers. Authorities are investigating the incident and working to determine how the drone entered Thai airspace and whether it malfunctioned or missed its intended target.
