INews Guyana reports that the programme is implemented as a 31-month EU-funded project titled “Building a Sustainable Organ Donation and Transplantation Programme in Guyana.” It targets the development of Guyana’s first organ transplant system by 2028. The Guyana Chronicle describes the launch as a significant step toward reducing deaths linked to end-stage organ failure, and notes that the initiative is discussed during a high-level meeting on Tuesday.
