Amazon is updating its shopping search experience to show AI-generated product images based on what shoppers describe while typing. According to multiple reports, the feature generates images in real time inside the Amazon app and then lets users select an image that best matches their intent to search for similar items. For now, the AI-generated results are limited to certain categories, including clothing and home goods. Amazon also introduces additional shopping tools tied to AI visuals, including “Shop by Style,” which presents shoppable outfit collages generated from the user’s inputs or browsing preferences. The company frames the updates as a way to help shoppers more easily discover products that match a desired look or description, rather than relying only on keywords. The outlets also note that the AI images shown are generated for browsing and selection, and that users can then transition from the generated visuals to product search results for items resembling what they selected.
