Multiple outlets report that following Amazon’s acquisition of the full James Bond video game rights, future sequels to IO Interactive’s recently released 007 First Light are expected to involve Amazon and MGM in publishing. TechRadar and PC Gamer cite Amazon Gaming statements indicating that any next Bond entries would be published by MGM and “theoretically” by Amazon Game Studios, with TechRadar also stating that Amazon Game Studios would publish future sequels. Polygon likewise reports that the next James Bond games will be handled by Amazon and MGM, leaving the exact format of a direct 007 First Light follow-up unclear.

However, at least one report adds that Amazon executives also emphasize that details are not final. Rock Paper Shotgun says an Amazon Game Studios executive confirmed IO Interactive will not be self-publishing any Bond follow-ups. That same outlet also reports that an Amazon executive later walked back some specifics, saying it was too early to discuss future projects and that he had not definitively confirmed Amazon Game Studios would publish the next title.

Separately, Variety notes that the next 12 months include planned post-launch content for 007 First Light, even as the broader sequel pipeline remains uncertain.
