Multiple reports describe Origin as a simplified version of Brave’s browser that removes or disables several monetization- and feature-heavy elements. According to Bleeping Computer, Origin strips out features linked to cryptocurrency, AI, rewards, and other monetization-focused tools. Digital Trends similarly characterizes Origin as a browser that removes “jargon” and certain features, presenting it as a way to browse with fewer distractions.
Both outlets also note the main criticism: some of the features Origin excludes can potentially be turned off in the standard Brave browser without paying an additional fee. The reports therefore frame Origin as a convenience or “bloat-free” option for users who want a preconfigured, simplified experience, while critics question whether paying $59.99 is necessary given the availability of similar settings in the free version.
