Bloober Team, the studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, has announced a new sci-fi horror/thriller game titled Star Trek: Shadow Frontier. Multiple outlets report that the project is developed by Bloober Team in collaboration with Paramount, the rights holder for the Star Trek franchise. The game is described as a psychological thriller rather than a traditional action or exploration Star Trek title.

According to the sources, Star Trek: Shadow Frontier takes place on an uncharted, mysterious planet that is hostile and functions as a “spaceship graveyard.” The setting is framed as dangerous and unsettling, with an unknown presence on or near the planet. One outlet characterizes the game’s central threat as something that “lurks” and affects the mind. The reports also note that the game includes Ro Laren among its credited cast.

Engadget further reports a release window of 2027, with the game planned for PC and consoles. The announcement positions the new title as Bloober Team’s next entry into horror after its recent Silent Hill project.
