Police Scotland is investigating the theft of about £8,500 worth of specialist camera equipment from a Glasgow photographer’s locked car in the Murano Street area. The victim, David Hamilton, says the gear was stolen from his vehicle while he slept. The circumstances are being treated as a suspected keyless relay theft, according to reports, in which thieves use electronic methods to bypass keyless entry.

Hamilton’s camera kit includes specialist equipment for macro photography. After the incident, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the photographer recover. The campaign has reportedly raised more than £1,300 so far.

Police enquiries are ongoing, and no arrests or additional details about the suspects have been reported. The investigation focuses on how the car was accessed despite being locked and on recovering the stolen equipment.
