Amazon says it has passed £1bn in total investment in Northamptonshire as part of its wider UK expansion plans. The company reports that more than 4,000 jobs are being created across two sites in the county, described as among the largest single-county commitments within its broader £40bn UK programme.

Amazon has already opened a £500m fulfilment centre in Northampton. The facility includes automation and robotics equipment intended to support faster processing and delivery. The company also states that a second £500m site in nearby Kettering is planned to open soon. A separate facility description in the coverage refers to Kettering as set to become the UK’s largest cross-dock location.

Across the reports, Amazon’s investment figures are consistent: £500m in Northampton with the centre now operating, and an additional £500m in Kettering, with both projects tied to the stated employment target of over 4,000 jobs.
