Google is updating AI Mode and AI Overviews in Google Search to include an “Expert Advice” section that surfaces perspectives from public online discussions and social media. In provided examples, Google shows a preview of viewpoints from sources such as Reddit, online forums, and blogs, presented alongside links to the underlying material. Depending on the query and the response, Google may label the section differently (for example, “Community Perspectives”), and not every result will use the “Expert Advice” wording.
Google says the panel is designed to help users evaluate where information is coming from by displaying creator context, such as a creator’s name, handle, or community name, next to the displayed perspectives and links. The company also adds other related changes: AI responses are set to recommend in-depth articles in a “Further Exploration” section and include additional links within the generated answer, not only at the end. For users who subscribe to publications via their Google account, Google will label relevant sources as “Subscribed” and prioritize them in AI Mode and AI Overviews.
