Police in Manchester say a 72-year-old woman, Primrose Hall, reported missing since Sunday, is found dead at her home in Mandeville. Officers respond to the scene at Gray’s Hill Close after relatives and friends search the property and discover her body face down inside a clothes barrel. Police cordon the area as detectives process the scene.
In a preliminary assessment, police report no signs of foul play at the location. A senior police source says detectives are awaiting an autopsy to continue their investigation. At this stage, investigators theorise that Hall may have fallen into a cardboard barrel while searching for an item, leading to suffocation.
Police say Hall was last seen alive at about 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, after which she was reported missing. The autopsy is expected to provide more information about the cause and circumstances of death as the investigation continues.
