Pixar is unveiling its next animated feature, “Gatto,” ahead of “Toy Story 5.” The film follows cats in Italy, with sources describing the setting as Venice. “Gatto” is directed by Enrico Casarosa, who previously made “Luca” for Pixar. The story centers on Nero, a scrappy black cat who becomes indebted to a local feline mob boss. Nero is then pulled into obligations that lead to an unexpected friendship. Mark Ruffalo is set to voice Nero, while Laurence Fishburne voices Rocco, described as a ruthless mob boss cat. A first-look teaser trailer and related promotional material introduce Nero and Rocco and include an interrogation-style scene. Additional casting details beyond the two lead voices are not yet confirmed in the reports. “Gatto” is scheduled to reach theaters in March 2027, according to one source, with another report noting the timing of the announcement alongside other Pixar releases.

"Where is the tuna?" Pixar has revealed the first look teaser trailer for their next new movie titled Gatto, a story following cats around Venice. Pixar's Gatto is the second feature made by Italian filmmaker Enrico Casarosa, best known for bringing us the wonderful Luca movie from Pixar a few years ago (still one of my faves). This next story is also set in Italy, but this time it's in Venice. Indebted to a local feline mob kingpin, a black cat named Nero finds himself forced to forge an unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose. Mark Ruffalo has joined the voice cast in the lead role as the scrappy black cat named Nero, and Laurence Fishburne will voice the ruthless mob boss cat Rocco. The teaser trailer introduces Nero and Rocco as they question another cat in a funny interrogation scene. No other voices have been confirmed yet. This will hit theaters starting March 2027 early next year. And I'm already looking forward to it! As a huge fan of Casarosa's Luca, I cannot wait to see his second Pixar film. Especially following these cute cats. Here's the first look teaser trailer (+ poster) for Pixar's Gatto movie, direct from YouTube: In Gatto, after years of maneuvering the canal-ridden, superstitious city of Venice, Italy, Nero (voiced […]
