The Katsina State Police Command says it arrested 225 suspects in May 2026 as part of operations against kidnapping, banditry and other crimes. According to the police, the suspects are linked to offences including kidnapping and banditry, as well as cattle rustling and arms trafficking. The police also reported rescuing 17 people believed to have been held in connection with kidnapping cases.
The information is presented by the command in its monthly operational scorecard. In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, described the arrests as covering a range of criminal activities and said the operations led to both detentions and the recovery of kidnapping victims.
