Google begins rolling out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 to eligible Pixel phones, following the earlier release of QPR1 Beta 3 a few weeks earlier. The update is distributed starting with the Pixel 6a and includes Pixel 6 and newer models as well as the Pixel Tablet, according to coverage of Google’s rollout announcement. However, some device lists reported with the beta do not include the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in the initial release group, indicating they may not yet receive the new build.
Sources describe the release as focused on bug fixes rather than new features. Droid Life reports seven bug fixes in this beta, while NDTV highlights specific issues addressed, including a problem where a mouse pointer becomes invisible on external monitors when work profiles or FLAG_SECURE applications are in use. GSMArena also notes different build numbers by device, with Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro reportedly receiving build CP31.260522.006.A1 and other eligible Pixels receiving related builds. Google has not publicly emphasized any new functionality for this beta.
