An IndiGo flight traveling from Ahmedabad to Delhi via Lucknow makes an emergency landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport after a hoax bomb threat is found onboard. Multiple reports say a crew member discovers a tissue paper in the aircraft lavatory with the word “bomb” written on it. The pilot informs Air Traffic Control (ATC) and requests clearance for an emergency landing. ATC alerts airport and security authorities, and the aircraft lands safely at Lucknow around late morning.
All about 180 passengers are evacuated along with their baggage. Security personnel, including the bomb disposal squad and CISF, carry out searches that include checking luggage with a dog squad, and the aircraft remains under scrutiny for several hours. Authorities report that no suspicious object or explosive material is found, and security checks are completed before passengers are allowed to reboard.
After the aircraft is declared safe, the flight resumes travel to Delhi later in the day. IndiGo states that it receives a security-related alert before departure and cooperates with authorities. Investigators indicate that reports will be submitted to aviation authorities and legal action may be taken if the writer of the threat message is identified.
