Stand-up comedian Pranit More continues to face backlash after a viral crowdwork clip linked to a “₹370 biryani” remark. According to multiple reports, the controversy began during a show segment when an audience member made derogatory remarks tied to a dating scenario involving a chicken biryani priced at about ₹370. More laughed while the exchange played out and did not intervene, which later led to online criticism focused on consent, accountability, and the handling of inappropriate audience comments.
More has now issued further public apologies. In videos and statements shared on social media, he says he “got carried away” because people around him were laughing, and he acknowledges this as a lapse in judgment. He also says he could have stopped the person, taken a stand, and not provided a platform for the comments. He expresses regret for those hurt and says he is cooperating with authorities regarding legal proceedings, while promising to improve his content and personal conduct.
Multiple outlets also report that the controversy remains active, with references to an FIR being filed by Maharashtra Cyber Police, celebrity reactions on social media, and renewed attention on More’s older clips resurfacing online.
