A Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight to Delhi is delayed after the crew receives a bomb threat shortly before departure, according to multiple reports. The alert comes minutes before takeoff, leading the airline to hold the aircraft on the apron while security personnel carry out precautionary checks of the cabin and other areas. The flight, scheduled to depart from Lucknow for Delhi around 10.45 a.m., is reported to be delayed and yet to depart at the time of reporting.
Authorities inspect the aircraft to determine whether any explosive device or harmful substance is present. All sources state that the checks clear the aircraft: no bomb or other harmful substance is found during the inspection. One report also says a piece of tissue paper with the word “bomb” written on it is found inside the lavatory, which is treated as the basis for the hoax.
Following the clearance, further legal and security procedures are underway, indicating that an investigation into the source of the false alert is continuing.
