Bollywood actor Salman Khan approaches the Delhi High Court seeking interim relief against the makers of the film ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’ over alleged infringement of his personality and publicity rights. According to multiple reports, Khan argues that the film’s promotional material, including a first-look poster and teaser/trailer content, creates a clear association with him. He claims a character shown resembles him and is portrayed wearing a bracelet similar to his trademark turquoise bracelet, which he says could mislead the public. Khan also contends that the film draws from or references the 1998 blackbuck poaching case linked to him, and that this could harm his reputation and affect ongoing legal matters.

The Delhi High Court issues notice to the film’s makers after Khan files his plea seeking an urgent stay or injunction restraining production, promotion, release, streaming, and circulation of the film and related publicity. The next hearing is scheduled for June 19.

Producer Amit Jani and others named in the petition deny Khan’s allegations, saying the film is not a biopic and does not depict Salman’s life. They describe the project as inspired by real-life events and legal battles, and say it focuses on the Bishnoi community’s relationship with wildlife.
