The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has declared the Round 1 seat allotment results for the 2026 counselling cycle. Candidates who registered for JoSAA counselling can check their allocated institute and programme on the official JoSAA portal, josaa.nic.in. To view the result, candidates log in using their application number and password (as per the JoSAA process) and then access the “Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2026” link.
After checking the allotment, candidates who have been assigned a seat must complete the JoSAA online reporting process and pay a seat acceptance fee within the prescribed deadline. Multiple reports state the deadline for confirming and reporting is June 26. The acceptance fee must be paid online; the fee amount varies by category. After reporting and payment, candidates can choose among options for future rounds: Freeze (retain the seat), Float (remain eligible for a better seat in later rounds), or Slide (seek an upgrade in subsequent rounds within the same institute).
If candidates fail to pay the fee and complete reporting by the deadline, the allotted seat can be cancelled.
