Activision confirms that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will offer one-week early access to its single-player campaign for players who pre-order or pre-buy the game. The campaign becomes playable on October 16, one week before the game’s full release on October 23. During the early-access period, only the campaign is available; multiplayer availability starts on October 23.
The early access applies to multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with reporting also indicating availability via Steam. Outlets describe it as a preorder incentive tied specifically to the campaign mode.
Several sources note that campaign early access is not new to the franchise. The practice appeared with 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 and continued with 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, while 2024’s Black Ops 6 and 2025’s Black Ops 7 are reported not to have included it.
The campaign features Private Park, portrayed by Young Mazino. The announcement follows earlier reports that this feature had been leaked ahead of time.
