Activision and Infinity Ward confirm that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 includes “campaign early access” for players who preorder or pre-buy the game. According to reports, the early access lets players start the single-player campaign one week before the game’s public release, with the campaign available starting October 16. The overall release date for everyone is October 23. During the early-access period, only the campaign is playable; multiplayer does not unlock until October 23.

The offer applies to digital editions and related preorder tiers, including the standard digital edition and a Vault edition, and is listed across multiple platforms. Sources mention support for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Steam.

The announcement follows earlier leaks about the campaign early access feature. It also continues a pattern seen in prior installments, when Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Modern Warfare 3 (2023) offered campaign early access, while newer entries such as Black Ops 6 (2024) and Black Ops 7 (2025) did not.

The campaign follows Private Park, portrayed by Young Mazino.
