Yobe governor approves Yerima Ibn Mahmud as new Emir of Ngazargamu

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Yerima Ibn Mahmud as the new Emir of Ngazargamu.The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Mohammed Goje, on Friday.The appointment comes after the passing of the late Emir, Alhaji Tijjani Ibn Saleh Geidam, who died in Egypt following a prolonged illness and was laid to rest in Damaturu earlier today.Alhaji Yerima Ibn Mahmud, who held the traditional title of Turakin Ngazargamu for 16 years, has also served as a member of the Yobe State House of Assembly and as Commissioner for Livestock Development.Governor Buni congratulated the new Emir and the Ngazargamu Emirate, urging him to leverage his experience to foster unity, promote peace, encourage coexistence, and drive economic growth in Yobe State and Nigeria at large. He also called on residents to support the Emir in fulfilling his duties effectively for the prosperity of the emirate.
