A Federal High Court in Abuja authorises the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to arrest former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Uche Nnaji. The warrant is issued over allegations that Nnaji forged academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates. The court grants the ICPC’s prayers after the agency files an ex parte motion, according to reports citing suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/1160/2026. ICPC counsel states that Nnaji repeatedly fails to honour invitations from the commission for investigation. The ICPC also seeks and receives authority to publicise his wanted status through national newspapers, social media and other platforms, alongside a bench warrant for his immediate arrest by ICPC operatives or other law enforcement. The warrant remains valid until Nnaji is arrested and handed over to the ICPC. Separately, Premium Times previously reported in February that the ICPC had started investigating the allegations and that prosecution could follow if the investigation supports claims of forgery. Nnaji resigned after the allegations emerged during his ministerial screening and confirmation process and later appears as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Enugu State ahead of 2027 elections.
