Pakistan’s foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, says he hopes ongoing efforts to reach an understanding between the United States and Iran will help bring regional peace and stability. In a call with Switzerland’s foreign minister, Dar discussed the current US-Iran efforts and expressed that they could contribute to stability in the region. Separately, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have also welcomed the US-Iran negotiations. Dar spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and both sides expressed hope that the talks will lead to lasting peace and stability. Pakistan’s foreign ministry says the two ministers discussed the negotiations and that the Saudi minister praised Islamabad’s role in mediation and diplomacy.
