Police in London are investigating the fatal stabbing of 26-year-old Gurbhej Singh in Southall, west London. Officers were called to North Road near the junction with Dormers Wells Lane at around 12.30am to reports of a stabbing, and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service treated Singh at the scene. He suffered a knife wound and is pronounced dead at the location. A second man, described in some reports as being in his 30s, was also injured and taken to hospital; he has since been discharged.
The Metropolitan Police say they launch a murder inquiry and make arrests in connection with the incident. Multiple outlets report that seven men were initially detained on suspicion of murder. Further developments include one suspect being charged: Navjot Singh, described as 20 in one report, is charged with murder and other offences including grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon. He is remanded in custody. Police continue to examine the circumstances of the attack, including reviewing CCTV and appealing for witnesses, and have not publicly disclosed a motive.
