The Chicago Cubs defeat the San Francisco Giants 6-1 on Saturday night. Pete Crow-Armstrong starts the scoring by homering on the first pitch of the game off Giants starter Trevor McDonald, a shot to center that is his 12th home run of the season. Crow-Armstrong also adds two hits aside from the homer, finishing with a double and a single.
Chicago extends its lead with additional home runs. Ian Happ and Pedro Ramírez each hit solo homers in the fifth inning to make the score 6-1. On the pitching side, Ben Brown allows one run on seven hits over five innings for the Cubs while recording his fifth win.
During the game, Cubs right fielder Seiya Suzuki leaves in the bottom of the fourth due to discomfort in his right knee after trying to field a fly ball. The teams continue their series with the Cubs planning to start Colin Rea against Logan Webb in the finale on Sunday.
