South Korean action-horror film “Colony” continues to lead the weekend box office and passes the 5 million admissions mark, according to data compiled by the Korean Film Council. For the weekend of June 12–14, the film draws about 301,000 admissions and adds roughly $2 million in revenue across the three-day period, maintaining the No. 1 position for a fourth consecutive week. As of Sunday, its cumulative admissions reach about 5.21 million, making it the second domestic release of the year to cross 5 million admissions after the historical drama “The King’s Warden.”

“Colony,” directed by Yeon Sang-ho, follows biotechnology professor Se-jeong (Jun Ji-hyun) and other survivors as they try to escape a building locked down after a virus outbreak. The cast includes Koo Kyo-hwan as a lone researcher who controls zombies, along with Ji Chang-wook and Kim Shin-rok as survivors fighting the infected, alongside Jun. On the weekend chart, the local comedy “Wild Sing” ranks second, drawing around 205,000 admissions, according to the reported weekend figures.
