Noida International Airport begins commercial operations on Monday, with its first scheduled passenger flight landing from Lucknow and operated by IndiGo. The start marks the opening of the greenfield airport project in Jewar, Greater Noida, according to reports from multiple outlets. As part of the launch, farmers and agricultural workers from the Jewar area who provided land for the airport are included among the inaugural passengers. One report notes that 170 farmers and agricultural workers travel on the first flight, including 20 women, as a gesture of appreciation, while another describes farmers among the initial passengers.

The airport is positioned to support aviation and cargo activities, with expectations that it will contribute to regional economic growth and help reduce pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Both sources describe the inauguration as a significant milestone for the project, which begins handling commercial flights following the commencement of operations.
