Noida International Airport begins commercial operations on Monday, with its first scheduled passenger flight landing from Lucknow and operated by IndiGo. The start marks the opening of the greenfield airport project in Jewar, Greater Noida, according to reports from multiple outlets. As part of the launch, farmers and agricultural workers from the Jewar area who provided land for the airport are included among the inaugural passengers. The airport is positioned to support aviation and cargo activities, with expectations that it will contribute to regional economic growth and help reduce pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
