Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu presides over the inauguration of Noida International Airport in Jewar and marks the start of commercial operations, according to reports on the event. The minister cuts a ceremonial ribbon and also takes part in functions including cake cutting and flagging off the airport’s first commercial flight. One reported inaugural service is an IndiGo flight (6E-2278), which arrives at the airport in the morning from Lucknow and is followed by departure service to Bengaluru. The minister also distributes novelty flight tickets to passengers.

Reports also note that farmers who contributed land for the airport are included in the inaugural journey, with the minister stating they will travel on the inaugural flight to Lucknow for a special interaction with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
