Nigerian rapper and activist Falz (Folarin Falana) makes allegations that President Bola Tinubu sponsored a crowd of counter protesters to undermine the #EndInsecurity demonstrations. Falz says he participated in the protest held three days earlier and, in remarks circulated on social media, claims the government response included counter-protesters who were present to oppose the call for action.
According to the reports, the #EndInsecurity protests take place nationwide around Democracy Day, June 12, 2026, with participants demanding urgent steps to address rising kidnappings and terrorist attacks. The marches reportedly draw public figures including Falana, activist Omoyele Sowore, and Falz.
In an Instagram video, Falz criticizes the situation and argues that allowing the counter demonstrations to continue could “end us.” He calls for the release of captives and for insecurity to end. He also points to recent incidents cited by protesters, including the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State, a reported massacre of more than 200 people in Woro, Kwara State, and attacks on schools in Borno with children still missing.
