Television actress Sanchita Ugale, known for roles in “Kumkum Bhagya” and “Wagle Ki Duniya,” dies at 22, according to multiple reports. Police investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of her death. Reports state that on June 14 she was found dead at her home in Sai Santoshi Building in Aachole Village, Nalasopara East, with authorities saying she was hanging from a ceiling fan using a saree after reportedly locking herself inside her bedroom. Her body is sent for a post-mortem, and investigators say they are examining all angles.
In the days after her death, her father, Machhindra Ugale, alleges she was under constant pressure and harassment and had been struggling with depression. He says the family noticed changes in her behaviour and had someone with her, but they were away for about 30 minutes on the day she died. He also demands that the matter be thoroughly investigated and that those responsible, if any, be held accountable.
Her co-star Megha Sharma also tells media that Ugale had been undergoing treatment and had been dealing with depression since January, adding that Ugale had sometimes spoken about ending her life. Other reporting focuses on her final social media post, in which she appears cheerful shortly before the news circulated.
