Multiple outlets, citing Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, say Apple is holding back three iOS 27 features that were not shown at WWDC 2026. Gurman reports the features are already present in internal builds on employee devices, with public releases expected later.
First, Apple is reportedly developing a customizable iPhone Camera app that would let users rearrange camera controls in the interface using selectable options such as flash, exposure, timer, depth-of-field controls, photo styles, and resolution. Gurman expects this to be linked to iPhone 18 Pro, which is forecast to include major camera hardware updates.
Second, Apple is reportedly working on “Siri Extensions,” a framework that would enable third-party AI chatbots to integrate with Siri and Apple Intelligence features, including tools such as Writing Tools and Image Playground. Gurman says underlying support appears in the first iOS 27 developer beta, including a dedicated settings area and App Store section, and that Apple has discussed the framework with major AI companies.
Third, Apple is reportedly developing a new “Modular” watch face for Apple Watch, described as a simplified Modular Ultra-style design, expected to arrive alongside new Apple Watch models later this year.
All reports place the likely rollout around September.
