In Zamfara State, forces rescue six to seven kidnapped victims after sustained pressure and air interdiction operations, with reports attributing the victims’ escape to intensified operations and an air strike west of Bagega Forest. The rescued people are intercepted by troops at or near forward operating bases and roads in Bukuyyum and nearby areas, and authorities say efforts are underway to reunite them with their families.
In Sokoto State, troops of the Joint Task Force North West carry out operations in Sabon Birni and Isa Local Government Areas following intelligence and distress calls. One report describes attackers blocking the highway, attacking civilian vehicles, and abducting passengers on the Sabon Birni–Shinkafi Road; troops intervene, resulting in the rescue of 17 passengers, with one civilian killed during the incident. A separate operation in Isa leads to the rescue of five kidnapped farmers after a pursuit.
