Nigerian Army troops under Operation Fansan Yamma carry out an operation against suspected Lakurawa terrorist elements in Kebbi State, reports say. According to multiple outlets, the troops make contact with the militants around the Dogon Daji general area in Dandi Local Government Area on June 14, 2026. During the ensuing engagement, the military says it overcomes the terrorists using superior firepower, repels them, and forces them to flee. After the initial battle, troops pursue the retreating fighters along their withdrawal routes as part of follow-on exploitation operations.
Across the reports, the recovered items include rocket-propelled grenade launch tubes and rocket-propelled grenade warheads, multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and other explosives. The military also reports recovering additional logistics items, including motorcycles used by the terrorists for mobility, battery chargers, and personal belongings. The outlets also cite statements linking the operation to sustained efforts to rid Nigeria’s north-west of terrorism and criminal activity. Nigerian Eye additionally reports that no soldier is killed or injured during the operation.
