A four-year-old girl, identified as Sangeetha, is injured after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Bengaluru’s Sahakara Nagar area on Sunday evening, according to reports. The incident reportedly occurs at around 4:30 pm near the indoor stadium in CQAL Layout while the child is walking along the road. CCTV footage is said to show multiple stray dogs surrounding the girl before the attack.
Both accounts describe six stray dogs being involved and say the girl suffers multiple bite injuries, including on her hands, legs, and face. Residents hear her cries for help and intervene, rescuing her before she is taken for medical treatment. Anti-rabies injections are administered, and she continues to receive care.
The attack leads to renewed anger among local residents, who say previous complaints to civic authorities about aggressive stray dogs have not resulted in effective action. Officials from Bengaluru’s civic animal-related department inspect the area and collect information, and authorities assure residents that measures will be taken to address the stray dog issue and improve public safety.
