European Union officials say the bloc has verified reports that China’s military has been training Russian military personnel to fight in Ukraine. EU top diplomat Kaja Kallas said that the European Union carefully assesses the implications of this information and that it could affect relations between the EU and China.
Kallas made the comments after chairing a meeting of the EU’s 27 foreign ministers in Luxembourg. The ministers also discussed the broader impact of China’s role in the conflict and the EU’s next steps.
