President Bola Tinubu praises Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), describing him as “Mr fix it” after what Tinubu presents as rapid delivery of key projects in Abuja. Tinubu makes the remarks while speaking at the commissioning of the newly built Court of Appeal, Abuja Division. He is represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Tinubu says he expected Wike not to “sleep” after appointing him in May 2024, citing early project activity and completion within a defined timeframe. According to the accounts, contractors were already on site by July 2024, and the complex is completed in about 16 months, with Tinubu citing no delays or cost variations.

Tinubu links the project to the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” and highlights the move from what he describes as a cramped temporary arrangement to a purpose-built court facility. The new Court of Appeal complex is located in Dakibiu and is presented as part of Tinubu’s stated third-anniversary achievements, with an emphasis on strengthening the rule of law.
