Police in Mussoorie are investigating the death of a 27-year-old woman, identified as P Radha Gayatri, who was found dead in a homestay room on Monday morning. According to reports, she checked into the property with her husband, Soumya Shricharan, on Saturday night after travelling from Delhi, with the couple previously visiting Rishikesh. The husband told investigators that they drank alcohol before sleeping around 3:30 am, and that when he woke up she was unconscious and bleeding, prompting an emergency call around 7:30 am. Officers and medical personnel arrive at the scene and report finding her naked on the floor, with bloodstains on a bedsheet. Two empty liquor bottles are also reported to have been recovered from the room.
Initial accounts from police described no clear external injuries, but investigators say forensic examination and a post-mortem, conducted at Coronation Hospital in Dehradun, are needed to determine the cause of death. The husband is being questioned, and police say the case is being probed from all angles, with further details expected once medical and forensic findings are available.
