Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) says it will record a one-time charge of $70 million after the US Supreme Court declines to hear its appeal in a trade-secrets dispute. In a statement, the company says the Supreme Court’s refusal, issued on 15 June, ends the final legal option in the case and leaves the lower-court ruling in place. The matter has been ongoing since 2019.
TCS also states that it will recognise an additional $70 million related to damages, interest obligations and legal expenses. This additional amount will be reflected in its first-quarter FY27 financial results as an exceptional charge.
The company had already set aside $150 million for the dispute, according to one report, and the new charge represents further financial impact following the court decision.
