Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla says the anti-graft body is actively reviewing more than 200 flood control cases involving alleged anomalies in flood control infrastructure projects. In a June 16 statement, Remulla reports that 209 complaints are under a fact-finding investigation during the first six months of 2026. He notes that this figure is higher than the Ombudsman’s previous record, when it investigated 124 complaints in 2025.
The Philippine Star also cites Remulla’s disclosure, stating that the Ombudsman has an active probe covering over 200 flood control cases, and that four of the matters have been filed in court. Across the reports, the Ombudsman’s action is framed as an ongoing investigative process, with results and potential legal proceedings expected to follow the fact-finding stage.
