Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole says some lawmakers’ signatures were forged in the process that led to the suspension of Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. In comments carried by AIT, Oshiomhole alleges that the forged signatures were used to facilitate the suspension and claims that names of some senators were included in the report recommending the action. His allegations intensify scrutiny and calls for transparency around how the suspension was handled.

The Nigerian Senate rejects the claims. In response, the Senate denies that any senator’s signature was forged during the proceedings that culminated in Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension. A Senate spokesperson, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, describes Oshiomhole’s allegation as untrue and says due process was followed in preparing and handling the suspension report.

The dispute therefore centers on competing accounts: Oshiomhole alleges forgery involving signatures on the suspension report, while Senate leadership maintains the report and suspension process were conducted properly and without alteration.
