Microsoft has rolled out Copilot Cowork to customers worldwide, moving the AI assistant from a prior three-month preview to general availability. The service is designed to help automate complex work tasks across multiple Microsoft 365 experiences, including activities involving emails, documents, meetings, and research. While Copilot Cowork can take actions, users approve critical steps, according to the reports.
The rollout also comes with usage-based pricing and new spending controls to manage costs. Sources add that Microsoft is expanding the feature set with additional security features, browser-based actions through Microsoft Edge, and broader third-party integrations. Model support is highlighted across the coverage: Copilot Cowork includes access to Anthropic models, including Opus 4.8 and Sonnet 4.6, while GPT 5.5 remains available through Frontier.
Microsoft also indicates future development, including plans to launch a new model referred to as “Cowork 1.”
