A SpiceJet staff member is suspended after a viral video shows an argument with passengers at Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal following the cancellation of a Delhi-bound flight. The incident follows a day of delays for SpiceJet flight SG 151, which was scheduled to depart from Bagdogra at 4:10 pm on June 13. Reports say passengers were first told the flight would leave later in the evening and were then informed it had been cancelled. After the cancellation, travellers confronted airline staff over the handling of the disruption and alleged shortcomings such as the lack of hotel accommodation for affected passengers. Some passengers also made additional complaints about the arrangements during their wait. As the dispute escalated into a public shouting exchange, CISF personnel reportedly intervened to restore order.
SpiceJet said the disruption occurred due to operational difficulties and adverse weather, including a diversion of the aircraft before the cancellation decision. In response to the viral clip, the airline confirmed disciplinary action, including immediate suspension of the employee and sending the staffer for refresher training.
