Coinbase is expanding beyond crypto trading into broader investment and financial services, including an AI-driven investment adviser, stock options, and access to pre-IPO markets. According to reports, the company is adding an artificial intelligence investment adviser integrated into its app and app-level offerings. The adviser is described as SEC-registered and is being rolled out to eligible users in the United States, specifically Coinbase One members, starting in the period following the June 16 announcement. The service is positioned to support tasks such as tax-loss harvesting and to translate market news into multi-asset trade recommendations. Alongside the AI adviser, Coinbase is also introducing or expanding features aimed at derivatives and additional market access, including stock options. Separately, it is said to be offering pre-IPO market access as part of a push to create an all-in-one financial platform. The announcements collectively indicate Coinbase is extending its app’s functionality toward traditional finance products and services, while maintaining deployment through its existing consumer platform.
