The Nigerian Navy says it is stepping up enforcement under Operation Delta Sentinel in the Niger Delta, reporting multiple recoveries of suspected illegally refined products and stolen crude oil across Rivers State. Navy sources cited credible intelligence driving raids that target concealed storage and distribution points linked to alleged oil theft and illegal fuel networks.
In Rivers State, the Navy says it recovers large volumes of suspected illegally refined petroleum products from hidden locations and illegal depots. Reports include the recovery of 63,290 litres of diesel from a concealed stash and the seizure of 87,000 litres of suspected illegally refined AGO from an illegal depot. Other accounts describe the dismantling of an illegal fuel storage facility and the recovery of 13,000 litres of suspected illegally refined AGO.
Separate reports also describe crude oil theft-related actions. The Navy says it recovers 39,500 litres of suspected stolen crude oil from dugout pits in Bonny Local Government Area, while another account describes the recovery of 17,000 litres from a camouflaged storage reservoir in Delta State.
