The Arizona Diamondbacks sign Korean two-way prospect Eom Jun-sang during the international signing period, according to multiple reports. Eom, an 18-year-old, forgoes the domestic league draft in South Korea despite being projected as a top-three pick. The Diamondbacks announce they have reached an agreement with Eom, and MLB.com reports the deal includes a signing bonus of about $1.5 million. Eom’s agency, Leeco Sports Agency, also confirms the signing. In a statement released through the agency, Eom says he is honored to pursue Major League Baseball and thanks the Diamondbacks organization for the opportunity, adding that he has more work to do as he aims to reach the big leagues. Reports describe Eom as both a shortstop and a pitcher who has played for Duksoo High School in Seoul and for Korea’s junior national team. In 2026 for his school, he is hitting .317/.443/.556 with three home runs and 20 RBIs in 18 games, while on the mound he has posted a 2.77 ERA with a 1–1 record across five appearances.
